"This website is best viewed with eyes", as the footers say. A little more explanation about this statment.
Well, where to point the eyes?
Well, to this Web Site of course!
Or more accurately, to the monitor the site is shown on. Duh? Well, this Web Site is mostly designed to be readable on standard and widescreen monitors, laptops with such monitors, and all iPads with sizes beyond those of the Mini. This means 5:4 and 16:9 monitors. I tried viewing the website on a mobile phone, but this can skew buttons and lead to horizontally scrolling images. And besides, wasn't the whole point of Internet nostalgia just that going 'On-Line' was a deliberate act and the Internet wasn't always ready to pull out of your pocket? :) On a related note, this Web Site is known not to work on a Nintendo 3DS for some reason. Issues: font changes do not apply, some images may not show up, auto-loading does not work.
If you wish to use an ultrawide monitor or prefer the warm glow of a CRT (like I would like to get!) beware that this Web Site has not been tested on 21:9 or 4:3 monitors and the button and image layouts may thus be skewed. In addition, displaying a static image on a CRT for too long can cause 'burn-in'. But a black background mostly prevents that!
When it comes to the browser you use to have this website shown on the chosen monitor, although I only tested on FireFox and LibreWolf, this shouldn't matter at all for reading text and viewing images as long as it's up to date. For video however I DO NOT recommend Chrome due to them having blocked Adblockers by adopting Manifest V3 compatibility only and YouTube having REALLY annoying two-in-a-row non-skippable ads. I don't earn any $ or € from ads on Youtube nor do I intend to do so, and I do NOT tolerate any of those going into the pockets of a Big Tech corporation. :D :D
I'm lost! Where to now?
Well, in every page that constitutes a local index with subpages, there is a buton that takes you back to the root index. In every subpage, there is a link in the footer that points back to the Web Site global index page.
I don't know where to start. Can you give me a hint?
Maybe return to the index and try what's below one of the buttons there. Or click HERE for a sitemap!
I LOVE your Web Site! How can I promote it?
Well, there are a number of ways:
Put a hyperlink to my site in yours using HTML;
or get this 88x31 button and put it on your website, making it a hyperlink to mine.
Beware that the button above is the only button on this Web Site under a license. However, all you need to do to put the button on your Web Site as is, well, is to have it hyperlink back to my Web Site, the source of the button. The button self-attributes: it already has the necessary information regarding the author (me) and a link to the license on it. However, to be sure, you may wish to add the license statement below the button code as HTML. I will not sue you if you don't though! :D
For adding the button in a CC-compliant way, a suggestion is to download the GIF and use the code below:
